An oratory is a place of prayer. It is set aside for the devotional use of the faithful. It offers a place apart where we may enter into communication with the Lord.

Our Lamb of God Oratory, with its beautiful Columbarium, was blessed and set apart as just such a place for payer. It provides a quiet, reverent setting in which to kneel and pray. The Oratory is intended to inspire and encourage the prayers of God’s people, not just for those who have died but for all the circumstances of life that call forth our address to God.

Our magnificent Columbarium provides a dignified and reverent way to lay to rest and honor those we love who have gone before us in Christ.

Spaces in the Columbarium are available to all members and associate members of the parish and their families. The cost is $1,000 per space.

Arrangements are handled by our Financial Secretary, Mary Diego. You may contact her at 412 471-8125, e-mail at mdiego@flcpittsburgh.org.

Funds needed fo create the Lamb of God Oratory and the Columbarium were gifts in memory of Paul and Virginia Holl from their children and in memory of the 52 confirmation classmates of Katherine Hartman, who were killed by fascist soldiers in Romania.

O Lord,
support us all the day long
of this troubled life,
until the shadows lengthen
and the evening comes
and the busy world is hushed,
the fever of life is over,
and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in your mercy
grant us a safe lodging,
and a holy rest,
and peace at the last;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
