The First English Evangelical Lutheran Church has served downtown Pittsburgh since its founding in 1837 as the First English-speaking Lutheran church west of the Alleghenies. Its members come from far and near to participate in its Christian witness in the heart of the city: a witness that is faithful to Holy Scripture and to the historic Lutheran Confessions. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is at the center of its life, providing direction, comfort, and hope. We welcome all to worship with us, and invite you to become a part of our downtown ministry.

SUNDAY WORSHIP: 8:30 & 11:00 AM
Sunday In-Person Worship has resumed. Both liturgies will continue to be livestreamed for the benefit of those who prefer worshiping from home. Check out our YouTube channel to access the livestream. Registration for worship is no longer required, but masking has resumed in accordance with updated guidance from the CDC.

Noonday worship will now be available on Wednesday afternoons at 12:10. No RSVP necessary – we’ll have a seat for you!
