CANTATE CHOIR – GRADES 1-6
Rehearsals: Saturdays 9:30 am

The Cantate Choir includes children in the second through eighth grades. The Cantate Choir rehearses each Saturday at 10:00 a.m.(September – June.) The Cantate Choir sings for worship approximately every six weeks, for special liturgies, and presents a musical play, with the entire Sunday School, in the Spring. Through rehearsals and participation in worship, children learn about liturgy, hymnody, and worship leadership.

BEL CANTO – GRADES 8-12
Rehearsals: Sundays 9:30 pm

Bel Canto (Italian, “beautiful sound”) is the musical ensemble at First Lutheran Church.for youth in grade eight through twelve. This energetic group of young people rehearses and presents choral music in many styles and selections for liturgies. Singers also participate in the annual musical play presented in the Spring with all Church School youth. Those who play various musical instruments also take part in the ensemble. Bel Canto rehearses on Sundays after the 11:00 a.m. liturgy September – June.

GLORIA DEI RINGERS – BELL CHOIR
Rehearsals: Thursdays 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The Gloria Dei Ringers, the handbell ensemble, is a group of adults and youth. The group rings a four-octave set of Malmark handbells, and rehearses every Thursday from 5:45 – 7:00 PM The Gloria Dei Ringers play during worship approximately every six weeks, and for special liturgies and weddings.

PARISH CHOIR – ADULT CHOIR
Rehearsals: Thursdays 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Parish Choir serves the proclamation of God’s word by supporting our worship and enriching it with choral offerings, including anthems, psalms, and special settings of liturgical portions. The Choir also sings at special liturgies during the year, such as Choral Evening Prayer for All Saints, Lenten Evening Prayer, and the Festival of the Ascension of our Lord, among others. The Choir rehearses from 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM Thursday evenings (September – June), and also on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM.
