The pair of gas candelabras were the gift of B. Frank Weyman in the early 1890s. The local legend is that while in England Weyman found a candelabrum in a castle chapel, bought it, and had it shipped to the church. The next year Weyman travelled again to Europe and visited another castle, which was going to be destroyed, and discovered there a second candelabrum, identical to the first. He bought it and had it shipped to the church.
