The new “stand alone” chapel at Thiel College, Greenville PA was dedicated on May 6, 2006. Pastor Gleason, who serves on the Board of the Trustees of Thiel College took part in the blessing and dedication. The chapel was named The David Glen Johnson Memorial Chapel, in memory of the son of Glen and Lavonne Johnson, faithful members of First Church. Glen and Lavonne have provided major funding for this important addition to the Thiel campus.
The chapel is a beautifully simple worship space, bathed in natural light and well -appointed for liturgical worship. Much of the credit for its design and the design of its ecclesiastical furnishings belongs to another member of First Church, William Brocious, architect.
