Through the season of Lent we will be marking our Lenten journey together through prayer, worship and community.
There are several ways, in addition to Sunday Worship, that First Lutheran Church is providing all three of these during the season:
Wednesdays in Lent, 7:00 p.m.
Throughout this Lenten season at First, we will be entering more deeply into some of our Easter Vigil’s sacred Hebrew texts. Pastor Evans, Pastor Hanssen, and Pastor McCurry will reflect on what each of these foundational Vigil texts mean for us as Christians in both preaching and teaching. Our series of Wednesday evening Vespers sermons will focus on these, as well as our Sunday morning unified Adult Education classes.
Lenten soup suppers start at 6:15 PM, prior to the Vespers services on Wednesdays evenings at 7:00 PM.
Morning Prayer weekday mornings, 9:30 AM
Morning prayer is led by the Church staff, during the season of Lent. All are welcome to come join them in daily matins. The service takes about ten minutes.
MUSIC AT MIDDAY
Wednesdays at 12:30 PM
Each Wednesday in Lent, gifted musicians from Duquesne University present a brief recital immediately following the noon liturgy.
